We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of two talented young photographers, Levi and Callum, who recently took part in the Rotary Young Photographer Competition 2026 📸 Both students submitted their own photographs based on this year’s theme, ‘Happiness in Nature’, showcasing creativity, imagination, and a real appreciation for the natural world. A special congratulations goes to Levi who was awarded 2nd place and Callum who was awarded 3rd place. Their work was entered into the Ballymoney Rotary competition, and their success is a fantastic reflection of their hard work and artistic vision. Well done!
This morning our U13 boys enjoyed a competitive home fixture against our neighbours BHS. Both teams displayed great skill and sportsmanship throughout scoring some fantastic goals in a very entertaining game. 🔴⚫️🔴⚫️⚽️⚽️
We were delighted to welcome artist Helen Bradley into school to work with our Year 11 GCSE Art students. 🎨 Helen led an engaging workshop where students explored her creative process and techniques, gaining useful insights to support their coursework. During the session, students created mixed media collages by ripping and cutting paper, layering materials, and drawing over the top using acrylic markers and pen to develop shapes and lines. It was great to see the students experimenting confidently and producing such thoughtful, individual outcomes. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Kirsty McNaughton, who led a crochet workshop with two Year 11 students whose project focus is fashion. Students learned how to create a single crochet piece and began developing their textile skills. 🧵 Kirsty also generously donated a range of yarn and textile supplies to the Art Department, which will be a fantastic resource for future projects. A big thank you to both Helen and Kirsty for their time and support.
✨✨ Netball Champions ✨✨ A huge congratulations to our Intermediate Team, who have been crowned 2026 Coleraine District Netball League Champions! 🏆❤️🖤 We are incredibly proud of the hard work, determination, and outstanding performances shown by every player throughout the season. This victory is especially meaningful as it marks the final game for our Year 12 students representing OLOL. Their exceptional commitment to extracurricular sport over the years has been truly appreciated and will leave a lasting legacy within our school community. We wish all our Year 12 players every success in their future endeavours ⭐️ #caringsharinglearningtogether

🙏☀️Easter at Our Lady of Lourdes☀️🙏 Following a fantastic fundraising campaign, pupils proudly presented a cheque for £1,783.12 to Roisin O’Hara from Trócaire, a wonderful reflection of our whole school community’s generosity and commitment to supporting those in need. The occasion was marked by a beautiful whole‑school Easter reflection service, bringing everyone together in a spirit of gratitude and hope. We also took the opportunity to say a warm goodbye to our student teachers, Miss Kirk and Miss Connolly, as they concluded their seven‑week placement with us. We thank them for their hard work and enthusiasm and wish them every success in their future careers. ⚫️🔴⚫️🔴

Year 10 Art students have been exploring the fascinating world of science through art by creating clay virus sculptures. Inspired by scientific illustrations of cells, they developed their own initial designs before selecting one to bring to life in 3D form. 🧬 The results were incredibly creative, with some truly unique and even slightly terrifying virus models on display! 🦠 Well done to all students for their imagination and hard work! 👏
Good luck to our Year 11 student Elijah who will represent Northern Ireland at the Nations Cup Pool Competition in Gibraltar in a few weeks time! 🎱🔴🎱🔴
