Today our Year 9 pupils attended the Medical Mavericks “Mini Medics” event with our friends from Dalriada and Ballymoney High School.
The pupils got to use a range of different instruments that might be used within the NHS and discuss all the potential careers there are within the health sector. They got opportunities to see their veins through a scanner, check their blood pressure, draw blood from a fake arm, look at their growth plates, use an ultrasound machine, practice keyhole surgery with laces, try partially sighted goggles and test their lung age through a spirometry test.
