Our Lady of Lourdes School, Ballymoney

Cash for Clobber

31st Jan 2018

Pupils, parents and staff are asked to contribute to our fundraising initiative which is also beneficial to the environment in terms of recycling. It will enable us to raise funds, help children and adults in the developing world and help reduce tonnes of clothing that would have been sent to landfill.

Please provide used or unwanted items including: menswear, ladies wear, childrenswear, shoes (pairs only), handbags and belts, scarves, ties, good quality clothing, bedding and curtains. Soiled items, duvets or pillows cannot be accepted for hygiene reasons. Provided they are of suitable quality, reusable items are exported to developing countries, including sub-Saharan Africa, Pakistan, and in some instances Eastern Europe. The School will receive payment directly linked to weight collected.

Cash For Clobber provided 50 collection bags which have been distributed to Year 8. Years 9-11 and all staff [and any Year 8 pupils who require additional bags] are asked to provide their own collection bags/bin liners. Leaflets will be distributed to pupils and staff this week.

The deadline is Tuesday 6 February as the collection van is coming on Wednesday 7 February.
